Ichell
New York, NY
My experience as a runner has been full of accomplishments achieved in a short time. I started in 2021 with a 5k race in a vineyard, and that's when I fell in love with running. From that moment on, all I thought about was running, and I signed up for every 5k race I could find. For me, running means freedom, strength, self-confidence, health, friendship, and so much more. I've learned that age is just a number, that it's never too late, and that as long as there's life, anything is possible.
The reason I want to be part of "The Speed Project" is to let all those women who lose confidence in themselves know that not all is lost. Outside of your comfort zone, there are wonderful things that will make you feel like a strong and special woman. You should never give up.
Why The Speed Project
Personally, this project represents strength and self-confidence for me. It brings me great joy to complete challenges like these as part of a team because you learn from others and you learn how to work together.
Building Community
This world of running has connected me with other people who already have experience in this and I've felt like part of the running community. But it has also connected me with people who hadn't dared to run, and thanks to my experience and advice, they have broken through that barrier and started running.
